Since 2003 Christ Church has played a central role in establishing a Christian youth network called Desire which spans Abingdon and the surrounding area.
Desire works with Christian and non-Christian young people in youth groups and local schools, offering terrific events, training for leaders, and delivering various youth work projects.

The team meets together regularly to pray, encourage one another, and organise events that showcase our unity as we tell youth about Jesus.
Currently the team runs weekly outreach clubs for students in years 7 & 8 at Fitzharrys School, Larkmead School, John Mason School, and Christian Fellowship groups for older students at Fitzharrys and John Mason. Desire reaches out and encourages teachers at these schools as well.

In addition to the clubs we also organize school assemblies at these and other local schools each year.
At the heart of the Desire network is a passion for “Informing and showing young people the love of Jesus Christ in Abingdon and the surrounding area”
