Jesus calls us to go and make disciples. God has shaped us to be good news in our neighbourhoods, places where we work, and our social networks.
Faith has a corporate dimension as well as being a personal journey. And we believe that community is a great place to grow as disciples, and to help others who don’t yet follow Christ to become disciples too.
Missional Communities are groups of 6-30 adults who share a similar vision to reach a neighbourhood or social network with the gospel. We’ve current got four missional communities:
Work Out – reaching working people through working people
Many of us spend a major chunk of each week in the workplace. We explore how we serve Christ wholeheartedly in the workplace, meeting in a pattern that fits around busy work schedules. We offer termly gatherings, prayer triplets, prayer walks around people’s workplaces, and speaking at midweek groups. Contact Charles and Mary Hippsley or Rachel and Rob Buckingham via the church office, firstname.lastname@example.org
Connecting 20-30’s together through supporting and promoting initiatives such as Inspire, 20-30s Life Groups, Board Games, Girls Nights. Contact Tim and Lizzie Shipman via the church office, email@example.com
Exploring how a concern for the environment and faith in Jesus Christ work together. We meet monthly on Sundays, alternating between prayer, a Bible study exploring contemporary environmental issues, and getting out into nature. The latter has included litter picking, and nature walks with reflections. Contact Ian DeVilliers via the church office, firstname.lastname@example.org. Art & Soul
Helping people to encounter and worship God engaging creative arts. We meet monthly, and earlier this year hosted the Paul Hobbs Art Week in the Barn. We’re developing a Popcultured course which will be offered during the autumn to help artists and art lovers live biblically in our culture, and to assess culture Christianly.
