March 2012:
Work starts on the Coffee Shops and Barns

Tim Davis"Dear Friends,
A cafe for our community – a place for connections to be made! This is the vision that the Lord has laid out for us. A coffee shop in the barns facing the street and directly opposite the shops and post office. A sign of God’s love and hope in our community of north Abingdon and beyond. A way for us to look outwards and a place to love, serve and connect. A doorway into the Kingdom.Artist's view of the New Barns

Each step of Christ Church’s history over the last 50 years has been a step of faith - moving into the Tithe Barn, extending the buildings, going to two services, helping to plant Peachcroft, planting Long Furlong, acquiring the Dairy Yard site, expanding the staff team and providing housing at Long Furlong and Northcourt Road - and now another step is before us.
Architect's plans for redevelopment into social, commercial and teaching areas

To transform the two main barns on Northcourt Road will cost a little over £1 million. We have the option of doing this work in two stages starting with the coffee shop. This would be about £575,000.

May I ask each one of us to prayerfully consider how we can respond and how we might financially give to make this vision a reality?"
