The 14 to 18s youth ministry at Christ Church.

4Filled - It’s part of ‘Space’ the youth ministry for both of the Christ Church sites - Long Furlong and Northcourt Road.

4Filled happens during the morning service at Long Furlong and has a 50/50 split between group meetings and Sundays where the group serves in different areas of the Church. Several times a year 4filled plan and lead an entire morning service. This might mean adjusting to an existing format – for example, leading the parade services that happen once a term – or coming up with something entirely new. We recently led a service that did the entire history of the Bible in 45 minutes! We have also themed our services to look at issues like fair trade and justice.
We will be delighted to share how we came up with the name ‘4filled’ with anyone who asks! The short version is that it was less silly than calling ourselves the Black Rubber Motorcycle Club.

Space - Space meets in Cell Groups on Sunday nights at Northcourt Road after the evening service, about three times a month, to have fun, build friendships and to grow in faith. It’s also a great place to bring friends along to. New members are always welcome!
Space Celebrations were launched in September ‘06. They happen on Sunday nights about once a month in the Church hall at the Northcourt Road site. There’s a dynamic mix of teaching, ministry and drama, with inspirational worship led by the Space Band. There’s also plenty of time to hang out over hot chocolate and cake!
We also run loads of socials and other events throughout the year. Everything from film nights to ice-skating, and bowling, breakfast at McDonalds, and more!

The 14 to 18s youth are actively involved in serving in the Church - helping operate equipment, set out (or often leading) services, helping with younger children’s groups, helping on various rotas etc. The Space band also leads worship at the Sunday evening services at Northcourt Road on a regular basis. All this is with an aim to helping the young people take their rightful place as full members of the church!
