Safety advice: we love having your children with us, but please remember that your children's safety is your responsibility whilst on the school premises and they must not be left unsupervised at any time, especially after the services.
While you're on the school premises ... The school has kindly given us permission to use the main hall, nursery, music room, the central outdoor play area (with adult supervision only), the toilets opposite the photocopier, and the corridors needed to get at them. However, please note that all other areas, especially classrooms, are out of bounds. For security reasons, no external doors or windows should be opened except by an adult, who must ensure that they are closed and locked afterwards
PRAYER AFTER THE SERVICE
If anyone would like someone to pray with them on any occasion, or after the service on Sunday, please ask whoever is leading the service, and we will direct you to an appropriate person.

Starship Discovery Holiday Club for 5 -11s, 24th – 28th August, 150 children and helpers.
Farewell to Ron and Ruth Bushyager and family: NEXT SUNDAY - Bring and share lunch at Long Furlong School from 12:15pm. Everyone is welcome, but please sign the list on the Welcome Table in the entrance hall if you are coming so that we have an idea of numbers. Soft drinks will be provided, but please bring food (savoury or sweet) to share.
At 6.30pm that evening at Northcourt Road, it will be Ron’s final service where he will be preaching.
If you would like to contribute to a farewell gift for Ron, then please put it in an envelope marked "Ron" either via the collection plate or to the church office TODAY. Also if you have a special memory that you would like to include in the book being compiled by Julie Kemp-Harper, please get this to her today.
Ron & Ruth will be licensed by the Bishop of Kensington, for their new roles on Sunday 5th September at 7pm at St Saviour's Sunbury.
Janet Taft: In the services on 5th September we will have the opportunity to pray for Janet as she starts her new job as Chaplain at St Helen’s & St Katharine’s School and to give thanks for her ministry amongst us.

BOOKING SECRETARY NEEDED FOR LONG FURLONG.
Long Furlong Community Association is looking for an enthusiastic person to be the next Booking Secretary for the Community Centre. The role involves taking bookings for the hall and issuing keys. There would be an honorarium payment for this service. There will be a handover period to allow the successful applicant to settle in and take over from the present secretary. PAKISTAN RELIEF THROUGH TEARFUND
Many will be moved and disturbed by the awful flooding that is currently affecting Pakistan. Millions of folk, including children and the elderly, are suffering inconceivable hardships. If you would like to contribute financially to the relief through Christian organisations working on the ground, which ensures that all such aid gets to the right people, you may give through Tearfund, either directly (www.tearfund.org) or through giving at Christ Church in envelopes, labelled Tearfund. And please do continue to pray for the work and for those in need, as we share our concern and the love of God in practical ways. Brian Woolnough

Meeting on the first Wednesday afternoon of the month, and starting on September 1st, residents on Long Furlong and members of Christ Church Long Furlong are invited to Neighbourhood Network in the Community Centre, from 2.30 to 4.00, for refreshments, puzzles, chat and a chance to get to know folk from the neighbourhood. One of our ex-young-people left UK on Thursday for a week of training in Chicago before travelling with her team to her new project in Asia. CIA TWINNING GROUP
Host families and helpers are sought to support a visit of up to 20 Christians from our twinned town of Argentan in Normandy for Thursday 23rd to Monday 27th September. The newly formed Schongau (Bavaria) ecumenical twinning group has invited 10 people to visit for the Christmas Markets from Thursday 2nd to Monday 6th December. A DAY OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR WOMEN AT HIGHMOOR HALL
Wednesday, 22nd September at The Spring, Highmoor Hall, Henley–on-Thames, RG9 5DH, led by Jennifer Rees Larcombe, an author, speaker and counsellor. After a brain virus Jennifer was confined to a wheelchair for 8 years while her six children were small. She was healed through prayer 20 years ago and has been in the healing ministry ever since. OPENING THE DOORS - USER SURVEY - CAN YOU HELP?
Work is going well in the plans to build a Coffee Shop and open our barns to the Northcourt community. As part of this, we will be doing two day-long surveys on Northcourt Road on Tuesday 21st September, and Saturday 25th September.
