Safety advice: we love having your children with us, but please remember that your children's safety is your responsibility whilst on the school premises and they must not be left unsupervised at any time, especially after the services.

While you're on the school premises ... The school has kindly given us permission to use the main hall, nursery, music room, the central outdoor play area (with adult supervision only), the toilets opposite the photocopier, and the corridors needed to get at them. However, please note that all other areas, especially classrooms, are out of bounds. For security reasons, no external doors or windows should be opened except by an adult, who must ensure that they are closed and locked afterwards

As many of you will know Andy Murray, our Youth Pastor, has had a growing sense of calling to the ordained ministry over the past two years. There is quite a process to go through to be recommended by the Church of England. Andy attended the final stage in the process, which was a three day selection conference, at the beginning of February. We are delighted to be able to inform you that Andy has been recommended for training! This means that he and his family will move to Trinity College Bristol to train in mid-August.
We will advertise immediately for a new Youth Pastor with the aim of interviewing towards the end of April and to have the new person here by September. Your prayers for Andy, Emma the children, and the appointment process for a new Youth Pastor please. Many thanks. Tim

HENRY OLONGA EVENING FOR MEDIC ASSIST INTERNATIONAL: February 26th
Henry Olonga shot to fame when he wore a black armband while playing for Zimbabwe during the 2003 Cricket World Cup to protest against the unjust policies of Robert Mugabe. Charged with treason, for which the penalty is death, Henry fled to the UK. His protest grew out of his Christian faith and Henry makes a first appearance in Abingdon to support MAI and to tell his story. He will talk with John Earwicker about the challenges of the African continent as well as sing and show his paintings.
The evening will be hosted at Manor School, Faringdon Road and begin at 19.45. Advance tickets cost just £5, including an interval drink (or £8 on the door). Order from John Earwicker (01235 550233 or info@medic-assist.org.) A great evening for church members and their not yet Christian friends!
